Academic Director of PhD Program in Computer Science

We are seeking a highly motivated
Academic Director of PhD Program in Computer Science. The Academic Director is responsible for the academic leadership, design, and quality assurance of the PhD program in Computer Science. This is a strategic role at the intersection of teaching, research, institutional development, and external engagement.
Key Responsibilities:Oversight of PhD Program
- Provide academic leadership for the PhD program in Computer Science, including reviewing its current structure, identifying gaps, and leading its redesign.
- Ensure alignment of the PhD program with international standards and accreditation requirements.
- Design and continuously refine the structure, learning outcomes, and course content of the PhD program in line with academic and industry trends.
- Map existing faculty expertise and teaching resources to the program.
- Identify and justify additional faculty hires (both teaching and research) required to support long-term program growth.
- Support internal quality assurance processes, including curriculum review, course evaluation, and student outcomes assessment.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of documentation for international accreditation of the PhD program.
- Establish and chair an academic advisory board for the PhD program, engaging internal faculty and external experts.
- Support recruitment, mentoring, and development of faculty.
- Facilitate cross-program collaboration and foster a strong research-teaching nexus.
- Develop partnerships with universities, research centers, and industry for internships, joint projects, and academic exchanges.
- Represent the PhD program to internal and external stakeholders, including donors and accreditation bodies.
Student Support and Research Integration
- Ensure a high-quality academic experience for PhD students, including research integration, mentoring, and career development.
- Promote student participation in research projects, grants, conferences, and academic networks.
- Coordinate thesis supervision, defense procedures, and academic policies for PhD students.
- Supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
Requirements:
- PhD degree in Computer Science.
- Excellent research profile.
- Fluent English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, without detailed instructions or close supervision.
- Strong initiative and proactive mindset.
- Ability to break down workload into manageable tasks and delegate effectively.
