We are seeking a highly motivated Lecturer in Programming and Data Science to support the delivery of core computational courses in our MSc in Bioinformatics and Biomedical Data Science. The successful candidate will help students build strong foundations in programming, software development, and data analysis with a focus on real-world biomedical applications.
The position may be full-time or part-time with flexible start dates. A minimum of one semester per academic year of in-person presence in Kyiv is preferred (even though we can also consider remote options) to ensure effective teaching and student engagement. We will assist with accommodation search and local logistics during this period.
Requirements for the position:
MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or a closely related field. Exceptional BSc graduates may be considered for Teaching Assistant roles.
Strong command of Python, R, or equivalent programming languages.
Experience teaching or developing educational content in computational subjects.
Familiarity with bioinformatics data structures and relevant software ecosystems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Fluent in English.
Commitment to inclusive, student-centered, and interdisciplinary teaching practices.
Key responsibilities:
Deliver lectures and practical labs on programming, statistics, and software development.
Guide students in implementing algorithms, building data pipelines, and working with real-world datasets.
Contribute to curriculum development and integration with bioinformatics methods.
Mentor MSc students on computational aspects of research projects.
Engage in collaborative teaching with domain experts in biology and medicine.
